Jack-o-lantern Leptoseris
The Jack-o-lantern Leptoseris is one of the more desirable members of the Leptoseris family.
It is an SPS coral (Small polyp stony) with a bright orange base and, luminous green mouths.
This colouration is how it earned its name.
This coral has been growing in my tank since June 2018 and during this time its been grown under both T5's and LED's.
This coral needs appropriate lighting, with mine appearing to prefer shady areas and moderate flow to maintain optimum health.
One thing to point out is they don't like being handled and can lose coloration for a few weeks when moved.
In addition to this, it will also require the correct levels of Calcium, Alkalinity, and Magnesium along with various other trace elements found in natural seawater.
Additional feeding isn't required to maintain its health however it will feed on micro-plankton and very fine coral foods.
